This painting took over 2 years to finish.  It is  formed from layers of ideas, and outdated maps.  In a way this is very much like all of us.  As we mature we develop depth and a certain richness we could not otherwise acquire.  For this reason alone many connect with this piece even before they understand what it is about.

“Healing in His Wings” recently was a featured painting in the renowned “Certain Women” 2019 exhibit.

Description

“Healing in His Wings” is about our Savior’s triumph over death, pain, and humanness.  Just like the thieves who were on the cross with Jesus, we are given the choice to abide with Him, or not.  I love using the symbolism of birds and powerline poles. Hawks are beings of power, as we are and powerline poles are shaped just like the cross.  As we drive down the road of life we may notice powerlines and birds. During these times we can remember that true power is found through our choice to follow the Savior.
