This painting is about rebuilding a relationship after the effects of addiction and betrayal. It is a process.
That’s why there are layers of two old paintings under the final product - because rebuilding a relationship is NOT a one and done deal. It is made of layers of learning from both parties.
Stunning color grabs the eye and the interaction between the birds is achingly familiar. It is the awkward flight of recommitting and showing unconditional love.
The intermingling background rings are about commitments made and remade.
The wishing star reminds us to look up and ask for help.
I firmly believe that the highest level of beauty is found in layers of mistakes. In relationships, in the learning process, and in ourselves. Every mistake has the potential to make each of us a brighter star in our own life story.
Miracles are possible. I am living one.
