What this one is about
At the beginning of 2020 I was feeling very isolated. I couldn’t “hear” people because I couldn’t see their lips. I started painting this piece trying to understand the works and designs of God, but ended up understanding His love for me.
I came to see that small or great, we are all given the gift of Jesus’ enabling power. He carried me through difficulties and filled me with His light. In this painting He is the Son-Sun that purifies everyone’s “dirty” laundry and enables them to shine. The ravens represent the thieves on the cross by Jesus and at the bottom His disciples. No matter who we are, thieves or disciples, Jesus loves us all. We are indeed, all alike unto Him.
Additional symbolism include: The ravens in the sky represent earthly and heavenly angels, holding back the darkness for anyone who desires His light. I also loved including a very small powerline/cross that symbolizes the power of man inside the laundry pole/cross. It helps me to remember that through Jesus, small things can be great and wondrous, all can shine with His light.
There is more on the wall.
Four series, and whatever is still in the studio.
